Accessing services

Oaklawn’s Access Center has locations in Elkhart (574-533-1234) and St. Joseph (574-283-1234) counties and is staffed with trained professionals who will:

  • Answer any questions you have
  • Triage your level of need: emergency care, urgent care or a scheduled appointment
  • Work with you to determine your benefits and payment information
  • Schedule your initial appointment
  • Recommend additional community resources

At Oaklawn, we believe a multi-dimensional approach to treatment is the best path to success. That’s why every new client receives a personal initial assessment with a therapist, who helps connect clients with the appropriate Oaklawn services. Clients are encouraged to give input and be an active participant in their treatment, which may consist of:

Because we know that this multi-dimensional approach gives clients the best chance for success, we do not schedule new clients with a psychiatrist only.

Our Access Center has staff who speak English and Spanish and access to interpreters for those who speak other languages. Regular hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the center takes emergency requests after hours.
