Collaborative Programs

Oaklawn collaborates with a variety of community agencies to provide the following programs:

    Adoption Services — Oaklawn contracts with the Elkhart County Department of Child Services to provide adoption home studies, recruitment, orientation, training, placement, and post adoptive services for special needs children.

    Traditional Foster Care — Oaklawn offers recruitment and licensing of traditional foster care homes for Elkhart County as well as training and support for foster parents. Following are resources for current foster parents: Approved Alternative In-Service Training (PDF) and Alternative Training Verification Form (PDF).

    Bashor/Oaklawn Program — Oaklawn partners with Bashor Home in Goshen to provide case management, individual, group and family therapy for children and adolescents placed in Bashor’s residential program.

    Assertive Community Treatment — Oaklawn collaborates with the Elkhart County Department of Child Services to provide community-based and home-based services to children, adolescents and families, including homemaker services, and case management.

    Supervised Visitation Program — Another collaboration with the Elkhart County Department of Child Services, this program works with children in out-of-home placements to provide safe visitation between parents and children. Staff provide parent education and serve as a liaison between providers, parents and foster parents.
