About the program

The CARE group targets children 5 to 7 years of age who could benefit from an encouraging environment geared toward fostering cooperation and building relationships. CARE group utilizes group play therapy and parent-child play therapy to facilitate healing.

The CARE group is offered Tuesday and Thursday, from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m., at 2600 Oakland Avenue, Elkhart.

CARE is a group therapy process which helps children:

  • Learn self-control
  • Support and be supported by other children in similar situations
  • Build positive relationships
  • Develop cooperation and teamwork skills
  • Express their feelings
  • Work on problem solving and conflict resolution

Participants in CARE may be eligible for free transportation to and from the program. See program leaders for details.

Fees

Elkhart County residents may be eligible for a reduction of fees based on family income and size. Medicaid, Medicaid rehabilitation, and commercial insurance may reimburse all or part of the fee, pending prior approval.
