Oaklawn’s intensive residential programs for children and adolescents offer a full range of intensive services for seriously emotionally disabled youth, including separate programs for males and females, a locked secure/PRTF unit, a program for adolescent male sexual offenders, and a co-ed group home. All programs feature activities designed to mainstream youth back into the community. The goal of the residential programs is to provide the shortest stay possible, with an average length of stay of six months or less.
Children and adolescents appropriate for residential programs are those who may have been unsuccessful in school or residential settings or who have experienced multiple failed placements. Oaklawn’s residential programs feature intensive therapies, life skills education, and structured behavioral expectations.
